I had one on mine a few weeks ago, was a loose connection under the seat for the driver seat airbag. CD-530D used this one on my car on sunday as it was throwing up a anti pollution light after I fiddled with the exhaust system.. and it worked fine cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBay...2565wt_905

Without getting it properly diagnosed, you will be clutching at straws. A likely candidate though is the "squib" behind the steering wheel. This "fires" the airbag and can just die. Our local Pug/Citroen specialist used a Snapon kit, but some older cars may need to be read with the proper Lexia software as they are non-standard diag systems before Sept 2001 for Petrol, and Sept 2004 for Diesel.
Lucky you don't have a multiplex .. the part was about three times the cost of the pre-mux when I changed ours a few years ago ... nearly £100! (that's the mux version)
