Nope, it came out of the factory with rear discs. I did beef up the rear with a complete GTi180 rear beam and Gti180 front brakes along with other bits and pieces.

thats rather cool . my 2.0 hdi xsi has big ugly mother f*****g drums Sad wish was discs. how hard is it to convert ?

For mine it was easy as it already had discs. Just disconnected the brake lines, wiring and handbrake cables, fitted the new rear axle which had the arms, discs, calipers etc already on and connected it back up. I think my project thread for it all is still on here somewhere. If not let me know and I'll post it up.

maybe a stupid question do drum use break fluid also or ar they springs or somthing ? would it basicly be plug and play if so id look into it Very Happy

They're still operated by brake fluid yes. It's almost plug and play with a bit of fiddling with pipework from drums to discs. You may not have the ABS wiring for the rear that does with it, you may also have a little trouble with the braking bias too. Something I didn't really look into as I was doing the modification moreso for the torsion and Anti roll bars, all rear disc axles have the same brake setup you see so for me it was plug and play.

yeah well i do have abs ill look into it when ive got some spare candy but for now. fmic Very Happy

braking bias i think 80 discs 20 drums
60 discs 40discs . just form what ive heard i think

yeah used to see it everyday lol its around the penn area of wolves mate and I must admit when I went first past I thought what a nice 180 lol! its still in good nick though really its lost most of the stickers apart from the pug sport ones on the door had a shock when I seen it because I allways said to the other half the owner must be on info!
