hi i have just bought a 206 1.6 s reg and i am a new member (this is my 1st post) i have an urgent problem i have no brake lights at all i have checked the bulbs but its seems more serious i checked fuse 11 and 12 in the drivers footwell and they are fine what else could it be? some people say there is another fuse box in the passenger side?

I had a similar problem in mine it turned out to be a wire had become disconnected in the passenger footwell commonly done when people are feeling around for the bonnet pull so worth checking up there

the fuse boxes are under the bonnet and under the steering wheel, check all the fuses not just set one's!

Is that the case for pre plex aswell? His is S reg.

You don't need to do all that just to check if a fuse is blown or not
I'd go for the stop light switch. Check if power is arriving at the switch and whether it puts out power downstream of the switch when the footbrake is depressed
No power at the switch? Look for blown fuse or why interrupted power supply?
No power downstream of switch? Inspect for broken/ maladjusted switch
Power downstream? Look for broken bulbs/ poor connection at rear cluster/ bad earths
But most likely for all brakes lights out then go for the footbrake switch

had a play last night all the fuses in both fuse boxes are fine i have also noticed that my front fog lights are not working? my dad seems to think its possibly corrosion in the fuse box? but i will check the brake switch today.
also when i press the foot brake a strange noise comes from the passenger foot well? its a sort of squelching or wind finding a small hole? any ideas? thanks for the help

Precaution is key.
There have been a number of members on here who have damaged their BSI units by pulling fuses when the car was still live.

The best idea is not to put up a link to disconnecting the battery and re-initialising the BSI when they simply want to check a fuse.
I wouldn't put up a link to how to remove the engine if they wanted to check the oil level

Before you go doing all that, get your hand up behind the glove box, there is a switch that operates the brake lights that is a s***ty design and can, if knocked pop out a bit. just make sure it's pushed all the way in so that the 'arm' that pushes the switch is actually doing something.
When i ripped the glovebox out of mine i knocked it and it worked loose when i braked.

Well there's the answer, advise not to have the car live when disconnecting fuses rather than encourage to disconnect and reconnect the battery with all the problems that might create
Brake light fuses are downstream of the BSI so all you need is the ignition off
