My cousin has a peugeot 206cc diesel 1.6 hdi i believe and today shes just told me shes got a message coming across her screen saying air pollution fault..... what could this be and how to fix it

This is a generic fault code and could be one of a hundred things, (a search would have told you that lol)
It needs to be code read at a garage for more detailed information.
