Ok i have a recently purchased a 206 1.4LX 2001 on a Y plate which is Pre Plexed i believe. It only came with 1 key and a seperate remote central locking fob which has 1 button.
Trouble is the key only operates the ignition and the petrol cap i can not get it to work on either door locks, doesn't even show signs of wanting to work in the doors.
I don't want to turn the key any harder than necessary because it is already a little loose in the fob and at some point in the past has been superglued by the looks of things.
Although the (1 button central locking fob) works fine i will be in deep doo doo if it ever decided to pack up on me.
I got in touch with the seller and he said to try WD40 because the locks could be ceased although he never used them and when he bought the car it only came with that 1 key and remote for locking, i tried WD40 but it didn't work so now im thinking maybe at some point either the door locks or the ignition barrel have been changed rather than having the full lot done altogether.
Will i be able to just swap everything over and take the inside of my key out and put it in the new key fob that comes with the lock set or am i not going to be that lucky??? ebay listing below.
Please help i am starting to wish i had never bought this car now.

i think you can go to peugeot main dealer, and they can do new locks for all door and have the same key for all doors.
on my old polo, but i had to wait longer as i wanted the original lock and key.. (my lock on both doors broke) so they had to request it from VAG.

I think a lock set should be fine as long as you transfer your transponder and immobiliser chip over

Replace the complete lock set.
Peugeot make it dead easy, no need to remove any door cards
Black rubber bung on door shut near latch, pop it out & then screw your tool in, push to release the door lock barrel securing clip then lift / unclip the barrel - refitting is reversal of removal.
Steering lock, you need to turn the key to the service position & then press the securing clip down to slide the barrel out the steering lock ( some also have a small screw on the end )
Fuel cap you just swop the coloured trim panel.
You need to swop the circuit board & transponder chip over to the replacement fob.

Thanks MrBSI, and everyone else that replied.
I bought the complete lock set off ebay.
Just one last request MrBSI, i don't suppose you know if there is a How to guide anywhere out there that you know of?
thought maybe i could look at to get myself up to speed before the lock set arrives and this is all i got when i bought my car.
So i just need to remove the circuit board and the small transponder chip from the KEY fob and just keep the remote fob as it is, sounds straight forward enough to me, great, cant wait to get this sorted then maybe i can start and enjoy my new motor.

As long as your current working remote circuit board & also the small black transponder chip are transfered over with the replacement blade to make a complete key it will work fine.
There will also be a transponder chip in your non remote key as well

That remote fob is actually the fob from your second key, it's not just a fob! It is exactly the same as my main key, your other key (the key you are actually using) is my spare!
So you do actually have two keys, one is just missing it's blade. Your other key might not work in your door locks because the key is worn or something and doesn't fit properly anymore?
