Hi guys, I have noticed lately when starting up the car there is like a footpump noise coming from the engine, near where all the puleys, cambelt is Confused

Cant exactly see what it could be but then I am a bit of a novice when it comes to cars etc.

The noise does seem to go after giving it a short-medium run (30 min)... unless it is still going but quieter possibly. The noise as I said is like the old school footpump in your hands..

Anyone have any ideas?

Also the engine cover if I press slightly down on it the engine sounds nice and quietish but if a I release the pressure of my hand then it is louder. How can I resolve this?

Cheers

make sure the bolts are tight on the engine cover, and the seal is still in good condition..

Hi mate, I visited the peugeot dealer today to enquire over getting new clips or bolts etc to re-fit the cover but he said that cover just fits on without any clips or bolts Confused

He quoted me £160ish for a replacement cover...

I would have thought that the cover would surely be fastened with some sort of bolt or clip?

Is there any issue removing the cover and driving without it on?

Cheers

The cover just pulls up and off - you may find that one of the push fit retaining lugs is nearly snapped off by someone pulling it from one edge only.
