Surely a can of compressed gas to remove the filings would have been safer?

Multiplexed radios are VIN coded to the BSI unit, as long as the radio stays fitted to the same car it will never ask for a code.
Now, if you fit it in another Peugeot / Citroen it will then go beeping mental until its re coded with Planet / Lexia 
One of the reasons multiplexed radios are pretty much worthless & why nobody botheres to steal them.

The red STOP light and the oil light now occasionally flashes at me too. I know for a fact that the oil and filter were changed since ive owned the car and oil level is fine. Just another electrical fault??

Correct Peugeot / Citroen OR Purflux oil filter fitted?
There are known issues with cheap filters that dont fit the plastic housing correctly & causes a loss of oil pressure.
You shouldnt be running the engine if the oil pressure warning light is flashing until you are sure you have good oil pressure.
Very rare the oil pressure switch fails.
First port of call is check the oil filter

Ok thanks, will get someone to have a look at the oil filter for me. The light comes on for a nano second and it seems to come on when I drive over a bump in the road?
Drove to work this morning with the windscreen wiper on constant unable to turn them off, then the headlights came on. Could not put the water squirters on to stop the horrendous screetching noise that the wipers were making either. Then got to work and couldnt lock my car or turn the lights off. Becoming a bit of a daily occurance.

Faulty Com 2000 OR sulky bsi unit / software.
Really needs scanning with Peugeot Planet OR just chuck a new com on it & it should fix it.
