Hey all I bought the proper K&N panel filter for my car but since having it in I've noticed the car is no where near as responsive or as quick as it used to be.. Can anyone shed light as to why this might be? It's a 1.6 2005 quicksilver
Thanks

Had the same feeling when I had the K&N filter for my 180. Dyno tests on mine showed the same power figures

Well sometimes the standard system is very good. Messing with air intake may not actually give any more power. I rember talking to ecosse about the 180 and as lotus designed the intake and exhaust often changing these result in no power or a loss as its not as good as the standard one!!

Could it be a result of getting too much air?

Shouldn't do...Mine has the K&N panel filter on and if anything has slightly better throttle response.

Maybe you've left the plastic packet on the K&N filter

Put the old filter back and try it. How much oil did you use? Could be a coincidence.
