no, it was the black led side repeaters, not the std white frosted style.
ok so i got bored today and though i would take some pics, i had my friend with me and managed to get this
so onto the other pics, these were taken at barbury castle
some at coate water
some on the side of a hill, well a road that runs along it.
there are some panaramic shots, but i have to work out how to stich these together without the camera doing it for me.
when i doo ill post them as well
Edit: Panaramic Shots
think im gonna try and edit the last one for my signature :D

not been doing much to the GTi lately due to crappy poo weather, so when i have had the chance i have been touching up some of the flakey bits of paint and sorting out a few other issues (the GTi badge that was missing the G, for example) and some general tyding up.
over the last few days i had been getting increasingly more fustrated with have to go into the glove box to restart my ipod, so last night i started to drill and cut the spare ashtray i have to create an ipod dock, this is the final version fitted to the car, so no W.I.P pics, as there is not much to it
1, get a spare ashtray (or use the original)
2, buy a dock extender lead (saves you having to butcher the connects 2 end)
3, cut a hole the size of the extender lead in the bottom of the ashtray
4, glue extender lead in place (using whatever glue you have, i used cyanoacrylate (this stuff is bloody strong)), making sure the connector is usable through the hole (i just made sure it was level)
5, plug extender lead into connects 2 connector, refit ashtray in place and all done.
here are the pics:
my old 5G nano fitted
pic showing the white led i also fitted to illuminage the side.
new ipod nano 6G, smaller lighter
as you can see it still works, with the new 6G
ipod 6G hidden, lid closed

figured it was about time i strated working on this thread again, as the weather is getting nicer, and im back at work after 10 months off (due to car accident, in my dads daewoo), and bonus im getting paid again. so as money was abit tight this month, i have yet to order the big bits:
New headlights,
New ballests (for the wrongly coloured HID)
Splitter and while i love the DS3 racing one, i cant justify £500 atm, so i guess ill just have to do the tried and tested Cupra R one.
New taillights (cant decide which i like more)
black led foglight
black led brakelight
new wheels and tyres (thinking eveanys and bridgestones)
and just to kick things off, i had some led 501 bulbs kicking around, i had been meaning to do something with, so i thought id use one of them on the interior light
was going to do the maplight as well, but considering the ballache it was to get that to fit i figured id leave it for another day before anyone says its a straight fit, it might be but try putting it back in the holder, its a bit to long, anyway after some butchery i got it to fit and work in the interior light fitting.

yeah it only fits there cuz its the gen 6, and as such is under half the size of the gen 5, it gives cleaner look, plus if i foget to take my ipod out, its hidden out of prying eyes.

new day new update,
i bought a spare aluminium fuel cover, as i wanted to colour code one:
old one still on car
sanded and 1st coat of primer
second coat of primer
final layer of primer after a wet sand with 1500grit wet and dry
first level of paint
second level of paint
shiney (third level of paint)
at this point i let it dry overnight, then started to accent the fake nuts
chrome level (looks more silver in the flesh, under my makeshift heater (halogen light))
first layer of laquer
final layer of laquer
left it to dry overnight again, unfortunatly the chrome/silver bled alittle, but it will do till i can get it done professionally
fitted to the car the following morning
and while id love to say fitting was easy, i mangaged to slice my finger on the old cap before fitting the new one

back again with a new mod, well slight mod.
so i bought a viewsonic viewpad 7 (for those that dont know it's a 7" tablet phone, running android), with the intention of having a 7" sat nav, well this did not work out to well as you cant get a screen holder to fit it.
next solution was to place it infront of the MFD, problem was going round corners fast causes it to fly into the passenger side, so to that end i bought a spare centre console, to cut and shape.
this is still a w.i.p, and without pics as using steel putty and dont want it on my phone. so ill take some completed ones or when the steel putty dries.
but need lees to say, i had to cut a bloody big hole in the top part to change the angle of the curve (infront of the locking/hazzard switch) to accomidate the charge cable (this is just a fly lead, not fixed into the panel).
i then realised that i might need to fibreglass it as it was a bigger whole than i though, however upon putting a shaped piece of metal mesh it wasnt that bad, so carried on using the steel putty. after that had set and after a vigerous rought sanding, i used a body filler (knifing putty) to fill any small dips, this is where it currently stands, so tomorrow i will have to send that down to a smothe finish, then prime it ready for a top coat in either gloss black or matt satin black.
on another note, does anyone know if you can get the vent transfers anywhere.

just got back from avontuning, where i had my dpf removed, and a stage 1 remap.
car now has 140ish bhp, 75nm torque more, and arounnd 7-10mpg better off, all for £400.
what can i say, well it took about 4.5 hours overall, process went smothely, were very friendly, and didnt at all mind me watching the whole process. i would highly recomend these to anyone in the south west area looking to get this done.
as for the drive home well that was just a pure joy, power was there from the getgo, pulling onto the m4, it actually felt better, drove home at 80-85mph, overtaking was a breeze, upon looking down realising i was doing over 100mph, i backed off, back to 80, but it got there without any effort in 5th.

Been following this with interest! Would be interesting to hear how you get on with the DPF delete - I want to get mine done (for reliability purposes), but I hear it's a tricky job from people that have had it done (not the physical bit, the ECU bit).
Mine is running similar outputs to yours at the moment, but regens every other journey once stopped (so irritating). I love the slip-road pulls in 3rd, feels invincible (well, for the moment anyway....:P)

is yours not already done, i see you have 140bhp was that done without the dpf delete.
mine will be fine eventually.
i personally think the problem with the dpf was masking the other issue, so now i have no dpf the other problem is prevelent, as stated before its nearly double the boost (which im no expert) would surly blow the turbo to bits. as there is no smoke beside the usual soot (i was expection the soot as there is now nothing to catch it), i dont think its the turbo, i think it is just a sensor that is messed up.
i will have to wait till tomorrow though and see what my mechanic says, but form what i have been reading, it is a common issue with DV6's but hopefully once sorted i can have my stage 1 map back

little update on things, finally getting to the root of the DPF removal causing overboost issues for those of you not aware, since the DPF was removed, i have been getting an overboost error (sensor sees 2470mBar) as seen in the pic below :
we have no idea why this is still happening at around the 300mile mark, it seems to trip at the stated rpm, on or around every 300miles, to that end i swapped out the boost sensor on top of the air doser, and at 300miles it came back. so as i now know its not the sensor i looked at other causes.
i know my turbo is on its way out (hell its done 113k) so there is one possible cause, however before i said to hell with it and got it remapped beck to a full stage one, i stripped out the air doser, and gave it a good wipe, checked both butterflys moved freely, then began to refit the various pipes. upon fitting the top most pipe this is what i found:
yep a very chewed pipe, that appears to have been fitted incorrectly. so refitted it correctly, but no joy 400miles later, beep beep beep, anti polution fault flagged again. this time i decided that i was only going to mess with 2 parts, i disconected the senser, gave that a clean, and on inspecting the pipe, it was loose fitting, so with that tightened again and the sensor refitted, i went about my business, 5 restarts later and the fault has gone, so i now suspect that the pipe is to blame, and causing some sort of preasure drop which means the turbo is having to boost more, which causes the sensor to trip.
with that though and need a new pipe anyway i ordered a new one from pug, £23.10 all in, but there is a 2 week wait
so with that hopefully sorted when the new pipe arrives, i got round to doing some other things, tips at work had been good lately, so i started on the back end:
yes yes yes slate me all you like for the cheap lexarse lights etc, but i have plans for them so :P

wow, long time no updates.
so, where are we at now, lets see.
ok original turbo dead,
recon turbo dead,
new turbo from a slavage car arrived today, done 51k, no visual play in the shaft, seems to be working fine. hopefully get that fitted either today or tomorrow, and have my car back.
after that, it will need to be re-mapped back down to 110bhp:( but with a dpf delete done, so hopefully it will stop flagging that P0238 - turbo sensor a circuit high error, then all being well, and it now smoking like a chinese sweat shop factory chiminly ill be keeping it, as 58-60mpg round town is exactly what i need atm.
another concern i have is the cat, i think thats on its way out. will have to wait and see.
