I have a slight squeal which I believe maybe from the steering pump.
If I spray wd40 on it it will stop but when I return to the car after parking up the squeal is back but goes away after about 10 minutes of driving.
If I change the pump which looks an easy job will if affect the timing of the car as I will need to reemove the belt.
If I dont fix it quickly and the pump collapses would it screw the engine as if the pump collapses then the belt would move and screw the engine

its just the aux belt not the main timeing belt mate you can remove it with no fear of messing the engine up.
In my old 206 i was losing a lot of steering fluid, when the level got low it would make a very loud squeeling noise. Check the level of fluid before buying any new parts just to make sure.
