I have a 2001 GTI 206 coupe, 2 litre.

The backlights on my heater/ac unit and dash clock/temp guage wont work. I have replaced the LED's, but no win.

All fuses are fine, and heaters working fine. I can see the clock and stuff working when i shine a torch on it, but with no back lighting it cant be seen any other time.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Adam.

Make sure you've got got connections with the plugs, if you have a multimeter you can test to see if your getting power, if you aren't the LED's may not be making contact properly. I had this problem with my clock and had to bend the contacts downwards

if its LED's your using they only work one way round. take them out, turn then half way round and put back in. see what happens.

Are LED's polarity sensitive? If they are backwards, no good?
