Hi all. I have just fitted some aftermarket alloys to my GF's 206 Roland Garros.
They are 17" with 205-40 tyres and 20mm spacers. They are completely clear of suspension etc.
They are fairly quiet running but for the last few yards, just before a complete stop, the front nearside one makes a noise as if it is rubbing, but it definately is completely clear.
I have not had the tracking checked so would it be adviseable due to the much wider tyres and could this possibly cause the noise.
Please someone stop me from pulling any more of my hair out.
Cheers.
By the way the noise is still there if I just roll to a stop without braking.

Yeh. Ive checked for stones nails etc. and the Rotation is right.
I think Ive checked everything except tracking but wasn't sure it could be that.
Very frustrating, but I checked everything I could think of before posting.
Cheers.

get tracking checked next then,
next on list after that may be bearings to look at. bigger alloys more strain on them maybe, if worn.

Just been out to check again. Nearside back rotation is clockwise and offside back is anticlockwise. I cant really get my head round this but I think if I swap them it will put both rotations right or has the tyre been put on the wrong way round ? They are both wrong at the moment so if I swap them round will it put them both right ?
Sorry to sound a bit thick but cant really suss it without taking them off.
Cheers.

if the rotation arrow is at top of the tyre, it should point towards the front of the car. when car moves forward the arrow should move forward also.

If they're both wrong, then swapping side to side will make them both right. If an odd number of tyres are wrong, you'll need to take one off the wheel to swap around.

Nankang Ultra Sports 205-40-17. Both back ones are wrong way round. I'll swap them tomorrow.
Both fronts are the right Rotation. (Wanli S-1088)
Many thanks for all the fast replies and help.
Cheers again.

Top tip, next time you need tyres invest in some decent rubber.

I get it now. On hers the front tyres are o.k. going forward and the back ones are fine in Reverse.
Seriously, thanks again for all the help.
