hi all,
just hoping someone can give me some guidance, i recently bought a 180 and it has a slight exhaust blow which is starting to annoy me so after having a look up on a ramp someones had a new manifold fitted and i think because it's so tight for space some of the head bolts haven't been tightened up properly,

so can i get to them without removing the sub frame, can you just remove the heatshield from above and reach down the back of the engine and do it that way??

any advice is greatly appreciated

You can get to the bolts by just removing the heatshield its still really tight for space though, Might be worth checking the flexi joint to see if its clamped up right.

cheers for the reply,

i had it up on the ramps at the weekend but couldn't do much as at first glance it's so tight for space lol,

will it be easier using a spanner or is there room to get a ratchet in there, also do i get to the flexi clamp from underneath. .

sorry for the thousand questions only had the car just over a week and little bits like these are putting a dampner on it

Spanner i doubt you would get a rachet in there, i got to my flexi through the engine bay, you could try getting to it from underneath the car if youve got ramps.

ok so it's just a case of feeling where the bolt heads are and nipping them all up, can you get to the bottom row of them from above too? does it make it easier if you take off the rear rocker gasket??
