Ticking noise when accelerating gets worse around 40mph in 4th, dont know if it is tappets or crankshaft pulley, 2.0 Hdi with 125k on clock, would it be recommended to stick a cheap ebay pulley on?

My 1.4 Hdi with 125,000 miles on used to tick at low revs.
This was the crankshaft pulley.
Hope this helps.
Personally I wouldn't recommend putting cheap Ebay parts on as it's an important part and prone to stress.
Just my view.
Cheers
Andy
