OK an update,
Did the wishbones and ARB droplinks today (which was a b***h of a job as I was by myself, took me around 5 hours with me having tea often and lots of thinking time), quick test drive after and its MUCH better. Wandering has completely gone, wheel tugging and loud crashing all gone. Its back to factory standard now.
Thanks to all for advice, i'm usually head deep in my old Volvo, it made a change to do some work on the 206

If it can be felt through the car it sounds like ARB or drop links - especially as it is not sided. A screwdriver or small lever should show up the slack joint.
Try not to just change suspension components without finding which joint is slack first - it quickly gets expensive.
If it is wishbones or ARB use lots of silicon grease on the bushes as this will make them last and last. What often happens is that the bolts seize in the steel bushes so the rubber bushes then start to take up the rotation movement - something they are not designed to do they are there to act as a basic shock absorber and eliminate noise. Once the rubber starts taking up the rotation they quickly fail.
Use silicon grease as it does not rect with the rubber and cause it to deteriorate. Ordinary grease will react with the rubber and speed up their failure.
