Last month i decided to change my alloys to some aftermarket ones, so my standard wheels were 195/50/r15, and so i bought some wheels that was close to them 195/55/r15 and i have noticed that my speedo has become about 5 mph out. i know that changing the size can alter it but all ive changed is the width, what could have cause the speedo to become wrong?
Thanks All

i understand that most speedos are out anyway and at higher speeds they get worse, but it used to be pretty accurate, its only after i changed the wheels the speedo went out.

Different radius and circumference affects the speedo
Fit 205/40/17 or 185/60/14 and your speedo will be accurate.

Mine is out about 4mph but when you consider the price to get it sorted you soon get used to it.

remember there is a short delay in readings from sat navs plus with 3-4 mph speedo's are likely to be out best bet is to find somewhere we're there are laser speedos which give a speed reading we have them around here the others pug is about 3mph so your reading isnt to bad. And your right with it being out by 5 mph very rare you will get yourself a speeding ticket. Getting your alloys might save you money in the long term lol

Yes I know I was just saying. Also there is a very easy and free way to adjust your speedo nobody has mentioned yet

If you mean taking off the needle and moving it, it won't work either as the amount of miles per hour that is out is a percentage so it varies with speed. Non linear..
