Hi guys not a problem as such but how would i go about making the rad fan work off a switch in side

ignition +12v > switch > fan > earth

Cheers so if i unplug it and take the conector off there will b only to wires 1 + and 1-

At the moment there will be a few wires around the fan as there are relays and a resistor for the fan speed, but you only need the two wires to make it work

Why do you want to add a switch to make the fan work?

Whats wrong with the standard set up?

Standard set up is perfect if it is working.
2001 GTi 138, Bilstein Sprint dampers, H&R springs, 21mm Peugeot Sport torsion bars, 22mm rear ARB, Peugeot Sport Group A wishbones, 283mm discs, Goodridge stainless hoses, Maniflow 304 grade 4-2-1 2.5" manifold and system, 200 cell cat, Richard Longman head, 45mm Jenvey throttle bodies, 9.5mm TB spacers, 90mm air horns, Jenvey throttle linkage, Jenvey fuel rail, Aeromotive and Goodridge fuel fittings and braided hose, ITG sausage filter, Radtec custom radiator, Piper Ultimate Road cams, Piper vernier pulleys, Omex 600 ECU. Saxo electric PAS pump, Vibra Technics engine mounts. Samco coolant hoses, TTV steel flywheel, 4.76 final drive ratio, 307 CC 180 ratios. 2019 BMW 530i. 2017 Mercedes C300 convertible.

Set up not working lol so got a spare switch might as well wire it up

If it's not working then fix it. Chance are it's a crusty relay or broken wiring to the terminals of the relay. Some cars have two coolant sensors, could be one of those faulty.

When i looks at the top of the engine there's two sensors a brown one and a green one could it b any of these because the temp guage has stopped working and there the only two that i can see go to the thermostat

Yes sounds like you might have found the problem. Which one does what I do not know though.
