If you get a anti pollution fault can you clean the dpf some how?

It may not even be the dpf "Anti-Pollution" comes up for a few faults

it came on once straight after the roof tile hit the roof and set the alarm off! we havn't even used the car, started wice after that to move it and it wasn't on then.

Even if you did "wash" it out you would still need it remapping out as the fault will still be there
I think lee can tweek your ecu/bsi to remove it from the settings

What?
You don't map the fault out. Clean the DPF and re-set the pressure sensors to zero. If you have managed to clean it out enough, you might be able to force a regeneration with PP, or by taking it out a spin.

whats pp mate? i have just read on the bmw site that from this year on if you don't have the dpf pipe in place you WILL fail the mot! the only way to foll them is to leave the pipe in place as an empty can! and map out of it.

is it just a diagnostic scanner? my mate has a snap on code reader,, wil that work? i should clean out the can then plug the diagnostic in to see where any faults are? had any 1 taken a can off before? is it just a peice off the center of the exhaust or is there some thing else attached to it?

No, its software run from a computer.
