My engine has begun making a high squeaking sound for approx 20-30 seconds at a time. this usually happens when i start it up from cold but now and then i hear it ever so slightly. to my limited knowledge this sounds like a fan belt? Iv only had the car a couple of weeks and its under warranty, id just like to able to explain it to them if it doesnt do it when i take it back!
It started doing this a few days after i got it home very slightly, but its definately getting louder and longer
Cheers

Sort it sooner rather than later if it fails or one of the pulleys fail it can get stuck in the cambelt and take out the engine

Further to this, I was looking my car over today and noticed there is no heatshield/cover on the underside of my bonnet. Is there supposed to be one here, and if so, does it cover the two vents in the bonnet of every 206?
Im thinkning this may be a cause of the problem if moisture is getting into my engine bay, as the noise was noticably worse during this crappy weather the last week or so

Not all 206's have the under bonnet sound proofing fitted.
