I'm looking at doing a stud conversion and wondered whether I would need flat nuts for my wheels or whether tapered would be good enough on the alloys, the holes are flat themselves though so I'm guessing I need the flat nuts also.

there's nothing wrong with the design of the standard wheel bolts.

I didn't say there was anything wrong, just that if I am to put spacers on then I will need longer bolts and I would find it easier and different to go for a stud conversion instead

Its just easier to get wheels that fit a 206.

word of warning, do not use grayston stud or any cheap ebay stud.

you will regret; the thread will be damage easily. This is not the first time i have seen this happen.

and even when they are new, their thread is not clean! Most peugeot trackday boys know this long time ago....

however, decent stud will cost you an arm and a leg, unless you machine it yourself

They do fit a 206 properly, it's the same with my Atlantis rims and coilovers. Still need spacers on the front.

i got a set 1 yr ago, 16 stud, 4 of them jammed on the wheel nuts; so i have to order another 4 to get it to work.

and you can feel by hand the thread is not clean cut, not to mention they aren't high tensile steel.

Macj run those stud on his rally car and in the last event i think one of the stud was damaged and causing wheel vibration.

if they are high tensile they should state what grade they are, plus for

grayston stud they never said they are high tensile, they are just normal zinc plate carbon steel (unknown grade so it has to be below Cool


And for that kind of price i would expect they are grayston stud (around 1 quid each)

and to be fair, you don't want to put cheap stud+nut to hold your wheels; although it is not the first time i have seen people's wheel coming off from the car in the corner Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
