In the past 2 weeks I've had 5 bulbs blow.
1 indicator, 2 side lights, 1 brake light and 1 head light.
Is there an issue here or are they just getting old? It's a 53 plate car by the way.

Decent make bulbs like Philips OR Osram?
Check the charging system is working correctly, anything over 14.4 volts wants further investigation.

For headlights and spots use OSRAM or Philips and use the 55W ones.
But in your situation it seems like bad wiring

All original oem bulbs from the factory.
Once replaced, the same ones haven't blown again.

That's always been a funny one.
Bulbs should take more than 60% above rated voltage without blowing.
You'd expect other things to play-up well before that stage.
Could it be a holder contacts issue? Did you check with a meter every time one went, or inspected visualy and replaced?
I don't see how a bad earth could blow them.

I would be more interested in which bulb blew on which corner.
The only common items that these bulbs share are the battery and the BSI. I could understand if they were all in the same cluster as that would point directly at the lamp unit itself. But with being on every corner it seems more like coincidence that they have all blown within a few days, and you would expect more than 1 bulb to blow at a time if it was a power surge.

Car electrics are not like the mains electricity grid. It would take sustained
large over-voltage to blow incardesent light bulbs which by that time would likely
cause more serious problems to the BSI/ECU. Especialy if you expect them to all blow in one go.
Spikes caused by car batteries when shunted (eg when jump starting) can reach tens thousants of volts but
their duration is so short they can easily damage electronics, but definately not bulbs.
The OP could be disturbing corroded bulb holder contacts every time he replaces what he believes is a blown bulb,
which is why I asked if they checked with multi-meter.
