About a moth back went to a guy off here who had lowered few other 206's on effin torsion bars. Was wondering as we had no success at all because of all the crap and rust under there the torsion bars wouldn't budge after 3 hours of trying! :'( would lowering dampers/shocks lower the back with our altering the torsion bars???

Forgive me if this a stupid question!

Thanks alot Tom!!!

Dampers don't do anything to ride height.

A sack of tatties in the boot would do the job.

Nah changing the axle is easy, literally 4 bolts.

I have one for sale if you are interested, calipers are new too, only done 3000 miles.

My last one sold for £180.

I'm about 20 minutes from Sheffield City Centre.

Could deliver it for a fee as well.

Can't you just soak the torsion bars in loads of WD40, do it every night when you get home, will eventually eat away at all the crap. Either that of use a puller on one side of the torsion bar while someone using a drift and hammer on the other side?

The penetration spray might do the trick, never used it so not too sure. Just use the spray and wire brush the areas where the bar goes into the arm, I woulnd't bother jet washing it. Heat would be good but yeh it is a bit too close to brake lines really, the penetration spray should be good enough to do it I would of thought

One of mine was seized solid. Used a big hammer and lots of WD40 as well. Ended up having to rethread the bar to get the bolts back in we hit it so hard...

when i did my 106 rear axle i welded a bolt onto the end of a slide hammer wound it in the tortion bar and smacked s**te out of it till it came out, one side was easier than the other, when they were out i cleaned them right up and put loads of grease on the splines, to it apart not so long ago and litterally fell out with a hit from a lttle toffee hammer lol
