Is the boot flushed? kind of looks like it is.
If not just get a second hand tailgate for 30 quid

No its not flushed, that was gonna be the next step after fixing this and spraying my new bumper.... I thought that would be the reply to be honest, so back to the scrapyard then!

Its a known 206 issue on a certain batch of cars due to a c**k up at the factory when the rear screen was incorrectly fitted.
Good 2nd hand tailgate in the correct colour is the ONLY cure for this.

You could always sand it down and put that stuff on it that changes the rust to metal again and respray it?
Cant remember what the stuffs called.
Although unless you can spray yourself, would probably be cheaper to just get another tailgate.

Why not look out for a 2nd hand tailgate with a spoiler and upgrade at the same time has to be the easiest way to DIY the rust and you upgrade at the same time did it with a friend off of here took an hour tops to swap everything over!

Replace the tailgate, dont bother trying to repair the rust as it will only come back again sooner or later.
It will be far cheaper & easier to keep an eye out for a replacement tailgate then trying to repair that one as the rear window which is bonded in will need removing to do a proper repair.
