So I took my partners Gti180 for a spin the other night and couldnt help but think 'it must have something up with it'

It feels flat as a turd, torqueless with no real fizz up the higher revs?

I myself have a Ph1 Clio 172, and it would utterly shame the 206 in a straight line (and the corners Wink )... Leading me to again think there's something wrong with the 206??

It doesnt have any running issues at all, no management lights etc... It just isnt packing as much of a punch as I would expect.

Do these suffer any blind problems? VVT Solenoid packed up or along those lines??

Cheers

If the vvt was playing up you would get beaten by a 1.0l micra. Has it had a good service at all?

If the timing belt has been replace by someone who dont know what they are doing that can throw the performance out the window too

cannot really think of anythink else other than maybe a blocked cat?

Happend to mine twice once when it was serviced with Ngk plugs instead and once when the vvt sensor broke.

Im pretty sure the plugs in my 180 are NGK i dont have a problem with them, although they were the ones that came in the car so not really got anything to compare them to

No my 180 actually felt like 1.1 with Ngk swapped for bosch and was back to normal.

I think I'll give it a good service and go from there.

I would have imagined if the cambelt was done by some monkey, It be having more serious issues than slightly flat performance?

Perhaps run a diag over it also, see if it picks up any faults.

Is it worth taking the vvt solenoid out and cleaning it up (judging by searches on here) or is that just a place-bo thing on these?

Its quite funny as the Renault F7R is quite the opposite.

It came with NGK's and must only use NGK's, Bosch Super 4's are a big NO with them.

I do not now why they did because the Peugeot dealer I worked for didn't even stock ngk plugs just Bosch.

You wont no the differnce If you have all ways used Ngk unless you try the Bosch.
