Hi all,

I really need very fast help on this. I have one week to register my car in england and she or he decided to give lots of problems now.

Had to change the starter motor, the old one failed. Accidentally I left the wire from the battery hanging around (it was dark and working in the street). I was planning to go to work next day without starter motor (didn't had the new one yet).
So when I start the car (by pushing it) it started with lots of lights in the dashboard and noises until it stopped completely. That hanging wire from the battery was touching someplace (maybe gear box metal).

That fuse blew but it is in parallell with the hanging wire, so not sure why it blew. Today assembled the new starter motor and fit a new fuse. It worked for 2 or 3 seconds and then stopped with the same fuse blown.

The fuse is the number 15 (peugeot 1.4HDi) in the box under the bonnet. It controls the following:
- butterfly box heater
- Diesel injection pump
- Oxigen sensor
- Motor calculator
- Air mass sensor
- Motor control electrovalve
- Diesel heater
- Injectors

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you.

Did it blow when you started the car, or when you put the ignition on?

I guess it blew after I started the car (2 or 3 seconds after) which was when the engine stopped.

I correct what I've just said. The fuse blew even before turning the engine on.

Well Im guessing the postive from your battery has gone directly to anything the positve wire touched. Basically something will have got fried. Maybe a scan will show your problems.

Thanks Steve for trying to help. I guess there isn't much you can help really. I'll try the scan. Thanks.

Just for the ones interested. The car is fixed now... well, it's not fixed but it moves. The diesel heater was shorting, so now it is disconnected and it works fine.

Thank you to all that tried to help me.
