I've a 1.6 16v and recently there has been a real drop off in power and acceleration. It had been juddering occasionally on long journey’s and I have ran numerous tanks of redex through her thinking that the injectors may have gummed up a bit but nothing seems to be working. Previously the juddering would happen occasionally and then the car would right its-self and pick up acceleration again. Now it does the opposite, occasionally it will get a burst of power but the rest of the time I might as well be putting my foot down in a Daewoo Matiz.
I’ve had it serviced within the last 10k but I don’t think the guy changed the fuel filter at the time. Actually he told me it didn’t have one. Liar. Not sure any of this information will actually help diagnose the issue I just want to be as thorough as possible. Also every once in a while I’ll start the engine and it will tell me that there’s an antipollutant fault.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Will more than likely have the fuel filter inside the tank then.

If it is as simple as getting a new plugs fitted again I will a). feel really stupid for wasting peoples time with this post and b). make a scene down at the garage that fitted spark plugs made out of paper clips.

If NGK spark plugs are fitted they are known to cause issues. Bosch Super are tw way forward I believe.

Best bet is to check them or slip a local mechanic a few beer tokens to check what's in there.
