Hi yesterday i noticed my 180 had developed a rumbling sound from the front the noise does disappear a bit when you start to slow down, my first thought was a wheel bearing was knackered but i had the car jacked up when i got home and rotated both front wheel and you get a rumbling rotation sound so could it be the drive shafts making the noise ? any help on this would be greatly appreciated as im starting to get a bit annoyed with this car just recently .

Does it change when the clutch is down?
Could be the release bearing but could be wheel bearings too....also could be a few other things lol

Does it change when the clutch is down? | The noise is still there even when the clutch is down. Ive just had it jacked up again and the noise is really prominent from the drivers side wheel when you spin it round i also get a bit of a clicking sound when spinning the wheel back and forth slowly, Can you tell if a wheel bearing is knackered by just spinning the wheel ? im kind of edging more towards the driveshaft now because of the clicking sound.

Run out is to check for any low or high spots in the disc or hub (vibrations under braking)
No use to the OP
I experienced the same noise but my wheels were loose from a stud conversion, so we can eliminate that. Jack the car up and spin the wheel and hold the spring and feel for 'roughness' in the rotation of the wheel
If you feel anything or hear any whiring its the bearing gone

The problem appears to have been found its the drivers side wheel bearing but on top of that both the rear wheel bearings are knackerd as well looks like this could be a costly month for the 180.

eurocarparts still have 25% off using april25 at checkout.......3 x SNR bearings would be £101.25 with the discount.
