Ever since having my car, the fuel gauge has been dead, always showing empty with the little red light on.
I used to just reset the trip meter every time I filled up, then when I had reached 200 miles, or every payday which ever came first, I just used to fill it back up again.
But now I have a new job, and it's 4 weekly pay, not 2, so my old method isn't working too well.
My question is, 'roughly' how many miles could my possibly do on a full tank, I mainly just drive to work and back, so about 6 miles a day, I know all cars would be different, which is why I just need a rough estimate.
I have a 2001 (x-reg) 2.0 HDI, serviced every year.
Thanks, sorry if it's an unanswerable question.

I do 14 miles a day to work and back in my 2.0 hdi and ive been averaging 550 miles to a tank ![Smile Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif)
I usually fill it up every pay day (25th of every month) and i usually have about a quarter of a tank left.
I know the maths doesnt add up, but i do use my car more than just driving to work and back ![Wink Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif)
P.s. you could always see whats wrong with the fuel gauge ![Wink Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif)

400 from the brim to fuel light
That's averaging 80-90 on m'ways, 70-80 on dual carriage ways and speed limit on normal roads.
Accelerating fast and braking hard.
My car gets driven like a car, not a fairy ship.

I had my in-tank sender replaced 18 months ago, but it still didn't sort the problem
He's in the garage today to sort out my battery drain, I'll see what he can do.
