Just filled up £30 of unleaded at my local Asda petrol station. It's the same Asda petrol station I get my petrol from every week. I usually only put £20 at a time which fills me up to the line between quarter and half a tank. When I put £30 in just now and it only filled me up to the same line. While I was filling up, after approx £22 the sound from the pump changed. It went very quiet not half as loud as it usually is. I thought nothing of it and continued to fill up my £30.

The woman in the petrol station said it would show on the gauge after I drove away from the forecourt because it's on a slope???

Basically I put an extra £10 in. £20 last week was purchased at £1.29 and so was todays £30.

On the £20 from last week I done 91.4
Miles.

Anyone else had a similar problem?
How did you sort it?

Thanks, Matt.

EDIT: I got 152.4 miles out of the tank, so i guess the petrol did indeed go in and my needle appeared to have got stuck somehow at that exact point. Which has completely baffled me tbh.

Nevermind, i filled up on Friday (01/04/11) at Tesco's this time. Again, I put £30 in and this time the needle went over halfway, where i had expected it to go first time around.

I'm still unsure as to why the display didn't show the full amount of petrol I put in last week, but it all appears to have sorted itself out now =)

Just curious, has anybody else had this happen? or can explain why its happened?

Matt

Buy a new fuel gauge sensor, the pump won't be wrong they cut out if they sense that the delivery is not spot on (i.e. not 100% correct amount of fuel being dispensed). If you still want to complain about it got to your local trading standards office.

The sensor is in the fuel tank never changed one on a 206, would be best to get a new one rather than another from a breakers maybe someone else could answer with prices.
