The abs light has just come on, on the gti. I have been working on the car so might have knocked a sensor. Anyway to find which one it could be without getting it code read?

Ive had both calipers off and driveshafts. Fitted an engine at the weekend into the gti. The sensors have the covers on so i dont think i have hit one with something. Battery was dissconnected for a long time tho.

Take it up the road and back, if its still on then check the abs rings on the driveshafts, very common.

The driveshafts came off my other gti, and the abs worked fine. I will have a look at the sensors could be dirty.

Should be the same, both are pre-plex 2000 models. The abs was fine before i swopped engines.

Sorted now, the fu**ing Cv boot clip i put on the inner driveshaft drivers side had come off (was loose on the shaft) and must have caused the abs light to come on. Removed it and its gone off now. Got to get a new clip now and fit it

We are talking french electrics here. Even something that doesnt conduct electricity and is only linked by being part of the same car can screw some things up with these
