Has anyone ever changed one of these on the lower wishbone ball joint?

Depends how long it's been split ... a few days is long enough to get dirt and grit in which starts to wear away at the balljoint itself ...

Mines had the boots changed. I had two new arms fitted then had it lowered....they bust the boots doing it and replaced them after a few days. Been fine since.
This 206 IS going on a trackday despite it's every effort to stay at home in the garage!

Yeah I put a new wishbone on and the hub slipped and split the boot seal. I have found them on ebay and you can secure them on with the small cable ties. Got that to do this friday, new cv boot and track rod ends.

I didn't think they had boots on the wishbone. I know they have a cover on when new, but you take it off before fitting it. Unless you mean something completely different and I've got the wrong end of the stick.

There's a rubber boot over the balljoint ... if new, it comes with a protective plastic cover to stop the rubber getting damaged. That's the bit you take off and bin.
