Hi

The way my driveway and pavement slope there is an apex, so when I turn on or off my drive I hear a creaking noise from the sides of my car. I can see that the retaining pin on my check straps are going, but not sure if that could be the cause.

Also I get a slight knock from time to time when the engine load changes (let on/off the loud pedal) come from the engine bay. I spotted a thread earlier where a 180 had a crack in the metal near the RH mount so I'm hoping its not that.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing these noises in my case?

Thanks

With the creaking I decided to change the wishbones, which solved the problem for me.

Creak - jack the front and have good look for play in the front swivel joint on the end of the wishbone. When these wear they can make a lot of noise.

Creak - rear axle bearings?

Knock could be either cracked or worn engine mount, driveshaft or exhast hitting bodywork.

Thanks for replies

Come to think, my tail pipe sits too close to the bumper (melted paint on track day), I could do with some longer exhaust rubbers

I'll get checking on those again, thank you. I think my suspension needs an overhaul!
