Wondered if anyone has had this problem and can point me to where the fault is.
When i start the car the engine races to about 3 or 4 thousand rpm constantly even though the butterfly valve is shut!
When i you turn the key a loud ticking noise comes from the EGR valve could this be where the problem is? i'm really stuck.
Also if i need to replace any parts where can i buy them from?

Sounds more like u have an air leak in the induction system if throttle body's shut it has to be getting the air elsewhere to be raising revs and it would do it irrationally as the throttle body's what controls the amount of air needed I would pressurise induction system and listen for that leak
