How can you tell if the ecu if f****d??

I asume that the car won't turn on and the eml would be on.

www.bba-reman.com/uk/index.aspx i don't think those garage on the street know how to check the ecu.

the car does turn on but once the engine has run enough it stalls but always starts first time to stall again a min later but there are no codes coming up

Ive got a magnetti marelli ecu from a 2000 gti. Have the bsi and transponder. If you want to try another one.
