Can any one help me please
My heater fan is constantly blowing when the ignition is turned on and doesn't stop.
I've a 206 GLX 2001 with the digital controls and even with the controls turned off it's still running only stopping when i pull the fuse for the fan
Any ideas or is it a trip to the garage with my wallet open ????

Hi mate,
I have a 206 glx 2002 with digital controls same as you, cant get my bloody fan to turn on!!
Hope you get it fixed mate sorry i cannot help, been reading on here a bit ref blowers to try and solve my issue and havent seen anything ref blowers not turning off. Are all the wires going into the back of the control pannel fixed in correctly? could be a lose wire or dodgy button hence why when you press button nothing happens?
Just a thought mate.

Just wonder what happen if both of u swap heater motor? Good luck on your fix. Another wow for french engineering.

People not bothering to change the pollen filter on time doesnt do the blower motor much good

ah, mine is a 2002 GLX electric AC controls
the AC is off and depending on what you had it set too, it will vent very slowly hot or cold, i had the pollen filter replaced last service,
how easy is it to replace the blower motor?

You remove the glovebox (about 6 torx screws) and reach up behind the centre console and you'll see the motor. 2 plugs in it. Remove them (can be a bit tricky) and then twist the motor, it only goes one way and it's been a while since I did it. So in all its a 10 minute job.

Nonsense - motors will spin regardless of the conditions and usually only fail under extreme load / heat. they tend to go short it the coating on the coils fails and again this is usually a by-product of heat.
I would say its a faulty relay or switch.

digging up old posts here, but supposed its easier to jump into old ones than start new... did you fix your probably... mines is same.. constantly blowing hot air.. ive took fuse out to kill it basically.. was it the motor that was knackered or a relay, like mentioned above..

If your fan is running at full speed then it depends what system you have as to how the fan speed is controlled
If you have digital climate control then the speed controller circuit board is integral with the fan so unless you can fix the board then you're looking at a replacement fan assembly
If you don't have digi control then the fan is controlled by a separate resistor pack and when these go then the fan only runs when set to max

You just said under load, they fail. Obstructing the airflow constitutes as a load as far as I know.

mines has the climte control.. if i turn the climate control on you can hear n feel more air coming through, and the more i turn the control up on the climate it comes out more intense... so i dont imagine it the climate control... might be wrong..
its a 2000 plate gti..
i pulled the fuse out like i mentioned and it killed the fan, but also the climate control..
obvioisly difficult to figure out a problem without seeing it, but im looking to pinpoint the problem..
