Anyone got any ideas im all out now.... My peugeot 206 1.4 8v has failed its mot on emissions, i then went ahead with a full service...failed again.....new o2 sensor...failed again...new map sensor...failed again...new cat failed again. Its only failing on CO the first time it read 0.65 and after all the new parts its down to 0.5 and needs to be no more than 0.3 for a pass. Oh its also been hooked up-to a reader and it was showing no fault codes???? Anyone.....anything???

Give it a good thrash before testing! Get the cat nice and hot as this is when they work best.

Fill up with Shell V Power, give it a good run and then check the emissions. Might need a couple of tanks to give the engine a good clean but worth the cost to get the emissions down.

Read the live data, just throwing replacement parts at a car in an attempt to fix it isnt the way to do things

ive been checking as its just high CO readings to me indicates its been starved of air or overfueled , i forgot to mention it passes on natural idle, however i have just took the air box off to check if it is blocked in any way and found that the pipe/box from the front arch to the airbox is filled with water which in theory could allow it to pass on idle but fail on "fast idle" as it only allows enough air for burning efficient on tick over, anyway im charging my drill now and going to bang a couple of drain holes into it and see how it goes on emissions number 6

I had a 206 that failed on emissions several times, replaced cat, replaced sensor etc... Turned out it was the wiring loom from the engine going to one of the sensors.. But i didnt have the money to get the loom sorted..So i ended up getting rid of the car

That's what they normally do, as they still have to run a test, but just put a new car on the ramps.
Emissions test is a load of bollox anyway.

it is very common to have water in the airbox down pipe....
even more common to suck water up and mess up the MAP sensor too....esp. under heavy rain

Good on you.
That box is the resonator by the way which is well known to get damaged allowing water to get-in.
It might be worth examining it and replacing as it's bound to have a problem by the sound of it.
