Hi everyone!
yesterday I took out my throttle body for cleaning. When I had it off and I looked down into the inlet manifold I noticed a puddle of oil in the bottom. It's not very deep but definitely oil not water. Im assuming it has got in there from the breather hoses over time. Will this cause any harm to leave it or do I need to remove the manifold and clean it out? If so how do I do this.

Before I removed the throttle body I sprayed carb cleaner into the throat with the engine running. This was about a month ago tho and the car is not being driven at all could it be residue from that still?

Question two. When under my glovebox Saturday I noticed a small fan hanging down about an inch and half across. It is loomed with the glovebox lighting switch. I couldn't see and obvious places where it located but it looks like a small cooling fan for something electrical rather than passengers. Does anybody know where it locates.

Thanks Dan.

Do you have digital climate control? If so the small fan will more than likely be the cabin temp sensor.

Yeh it's digital climate control. Is the little fan supposed to be located somewhere? Or just dangling above the footwell? Would the sensor spin like a little fan then?

See the little holes in the passenger air bag? It's supposed to live behind there Wink

Ah ideal. Il pop it back up there tonight. Thanks. Must have come loose when I pulled my glovebox out back along. Any ideas on the oil in the inlet manifold? It's a gti 138 if that makes a difference.

Ok thanks. I'm assuming it just got in there from the breather hose.
