So I'm driving along, car is pulling very well and clean then the engine light comes on! No loss in power and the stop light didn't come on so I carried on driving home. Then the engine light starts flashing and engine is mis firing with loss of power, I pulled over and switched off and restarted and the light is back on constantly. Got the RAC out who said the CAT was worn out and possible throttle body problem. Got it back home and stripped the throttle body and cleaned it up. Drove to local garage who said the CAT was gone so they changed the complete front pipe and reset codes. The engine was rocking around in the engine bay and cut out after 10 seconds, so they changed the plugs which helped a bit. They checked the codes again and said the lambda sensor was shot so replaced it and reset the codes again. The car is now better than it's ever been but I can't help thinking it only wanted a lambda sensor, any thoughts?? It's cost me £350 so not happy. (sorry it's a long post)

The one before the CAT, they also said if the light comes on again I'll have to change the other one too. Seems a bit money grabbing to me.

Oh ok, probably did need both then, at least it's great now - just a lot to pay out I guess. Thanks.
