hello all.

ive had my 206 for 3 years and over the last 8-10 month ive noticed a few things about it which are getting worse, most worrying of all is i can smell diesel from the bonnet area. ive noticed it while stopped at traffic lights with the window down and when i get out of the car after driving it.

under the bonnet there seems to be a leak or spillage of diesel around the main diesel i had a closer look and it is leaking.

there is diesel all over the area underneath of this.

could this be why im getting starting troubles in the morning or whenever when the car is cold? and it is smoking alot when i do manage to start it up, am i loosing fuel pressure? my MPG has gone down and diesel does not seem to last very long, i only ever drive to and from work a 20 mile round trip with very little driving inbetween.

any thoughts? ive tried tightening the bolts on the pump but nothing will i have to get a replacement pump?

Thanks

If its leaking it will let air in which would make the diesel drain back into the tank when you turn off the ignition. So that will possibly be why it's taking longer to start. My dad had similar problem on his clio.

As for replacing the pump can you not get a new washer? Thought I read in a topic somewhere about replacing the washer but I can't seem to find it now.
