@macca what gauge cable did you use? also did you bother with a inline fuse?

I have a reel of 3 amp figure of 8 cable from Maplin which I just cut a length off.
I didn't bother with an inline fuse as I'm only plugging phone chargers and sat nav leads into it. The original fuse should be adequate for these. The socket near the handbrake never gets used now, and I'm fairly sure the lighter still looks like new as the car is a no smoking zone.

oh right, think ill get some cable from ebay and i think ill still put a fuse in.
