Hi just bought a 206 cc 1.6 petrol on a 52 plate it's got a funny temp gauge and reads quite high, if you start the car from cold first thing in the morning straight away the temp gauge starts at 70 and then goes up as it should whilst normal driving the trouble is because its starting quite high when it gets warm it looks like its overheating yet the fan is working as it should and its not pressurising i,ve changed the temp sender switch and still no difference heating is fine looks as if it the gauge but thought i,d ask before changing any suggestions gratefully recieved Cheers Dan

4 dial cluster with coolant temp gauge on right OR the 5 dial cluster with coolant temp gauge at bottom of rev counter & oil temp gauge on right?

Where is the gauge reading after a few miles / minutes of driving?

It should sit bang on 90 deg C for normal running temp once the engine is warmed up.

Is the thermostat opening at the correct temp to allow the coolant to circulate through the radiator?

Should open about 89 deg C.
