i disconnected the green o2 plug to see any difference or a check engine light and there was no difference even with performance, why is that??

All you will possibly notice is increased fuel consumption. My car failed mot on its emissions a few years ago. When the garage went to put a new lamda in they noticed that the one already fitted wasn't even plugged in. I never knew any different. The car drove just as it always had and I had no engine lights come on.

To be absolutely honest I didn't even notice much difference with fuel once it was plugged back in.
