Hey, I am in need of advice..

I had my engine changed 2 months ago with new water pump, timing belt kit etc. It had only 43000mls on it and ran perfectly for 2 months until the other day it started making tapping noises from the head. Sounds like from the rear cam area. A garage told me there was oil starvation and that it was bone dry, so i flushed the engine and replaced with new oil and filter but still the noise. Mechanic lied though as i removed both rocker covers and both cams are being supplied with oil when engine is running. What could it be??

Hi Not sure if this will help, but my 2005 1.4 8v was very noisy on the top end. I did not think the tappets could be adjusted but a mechanic friend of mine took it away adjusted the tappets and is so much quieter.

Tapping noises are normally your tappets/valve seats as said above.

Thanks Neil and baseline toad. Hopefully I can pop it into my local garage and it won't cost too much to do. Trying to charge me 2k for stripping the whole engine down for nothing. On yer bike mate lol while I'm on here, BSI unit, is this why my rear auto wipe function and reverse lights no longer work?
