So after fixing a busted CV boot I noticed the grease kind of exploded everywhere. I cleaned up as much of it as I could but the reluctor ring was covered in grease.
I'm wondering could this be the cause of an ABS fault? All the rings look in good condition apart from the grease covered one.
Thanks
Baz

shouldn't affect it much, give it a clean up with some degreaser, check for broken teeth or corrosion while your at it.

The toothed ring needs to be cleaned of so the teeth can be read by the sensor.
If the gaps between the teeth are full of grease / debris then the ABS sensor will not read the teeth correctly & can error out.
