hi all

I've got a 2000 206 1.4 petrol and when it went for its mot it failed on the CO and lambda reading. The CO was 1.119 and the lambda 1.099. Can anybody shed any light on possible reasons for this?? Would a change of oil/oil filter and cleaning of the throttle body help bring these down?? According to the guy at the test centre my car is "running rich" and the exhaust seems like the exhaust has a large amount of pressure.
I've seen all the threads on here that say to fill it with redex and take it for a good drive but still failed.

Any help would be appreciated.

sort out the lambda first; most likely it will clam down the CO as well.

no harm to make sure the air filter is clean as well.

redex is just snake oil

well like i said you need to check if the lambda is giving out the correct value.

if the sensor is fine then high lambda usually means air leak around the sensor.
