Hi,
My Peugeot 206 has been running a little bit off lately, and I have noticed that the car is suffering from worsening fuel efficiency. Also, the poor little Pug has lost some power in acceleration.
The engine light came on today, so I plugged in my little OBD reader and it pulled off the code P0141. Now this rung a bell from my previous car where I had to change the Lambda sensor, but this was a little while ago.
I have three questions:
1) Can a faulty H02S (bank 1 sensor 2) cause:
a) bad fuel economy
b) loss of engine power
2) Can someone provide a nice photo or illustration to show where the Lambda is? I am not sure which one is which!
3) I don't want to fork out £100+ for a sensor, so, how can I replace this at minimal cost. Obviously the sensor will need to be replaced, but where do you recommend I can get one at a reasonable price.
The reason I am being a bit of a cheapskate and not wanting to pay a lot to fix this problem is because I am selling the car.
Many thanks for your help!
SR

I am a bit of a beginner mechanic, could you link a picture from google? I want to be sure, yet, I still don't want to pay for a garage to do it!
Thanks,
SR

As the first line of my post states, its a Peugeot 206 (1.4 2001 plate). I think I know where it is now, it is the one right at the back. It that what is called the upstream sensor?
Thanks,
SR
