According to Haynes the capacity for power steering fluid is 1 litre approx.

Works out about £20 per litre from dealer for the Total brand. Esso is cheaper by about £5, they also list the same stuff for auto box top up.

you sure?

i just check the technical guide it said:

RECOMMENDATIONS POWER STEERING FLUID (SERVICE)

The hydraulic fluid DEXRON 2 can be used for the following vehicles (Temperate climates) :

106 - 206 - 306
406 - 607 - 806
PARTNER - EXPERT - BOXER

NOTE : for versions for very cold climates: the hydraulic fluid TOTAL FLUIDE LDS H50126 or the hydraulic fluid PENTOSIN CHF11S must be used .

and dexron 2 oil is dirt cheap Confused

cool.

do i need any special tools to remove the pipe?

i presume i have to turn the steering wheel when engine is running? wheels on the ground or not?

Engine off, wheels on the ground 10 times lock-to-lock then engine on 10 more times lock-to-lock.

From PSA:

(H) : Maximum level (Hot) .

(C) : Maximum level (Cold) .

IMPERATIVE : use new fluid when filling and topping up the system .

Fill the power steering reservoir 10 to mm above the maximum mark (A) .

With the engine stopped, Turn the steering slowly from lock to lock in each direction : Approximately 10 times .

Again fill the reservoir up to the maximum level (A) .

4 - BLEEDING

Run the engine at idle for 2 to 3 minutes without moving the steering wheel .

Keep the fluid level topped up .

Bleed the circuit by turning the steering several times in each direction .

Keep the fluid level topped up .

(A)Maximum level .

The level must be set with the engine stopped and the wheels straight ahead
