I brought my 206 not long ago and since having it I have started having problems with the gears.
I can select reverse and not move a couple of times then it will go into place and I can reverse, the other gears also clunk into place sometimes and im worried that my gearbox is on its way out and im going to end up broke down on the side of the road.
please tell me this is a easy and cheap fix as I really cant afford to spend out after such a short time owning it Crying or Very sad

Could just be a loose linkage, do you have a lot of play in the gearstick?

Is the clutch bite ok.
Are you getting smooth gear changing, up and down the box when driving in general.

Get someone with a bit of know how to have a drive in it and follow what they say..or better still get them to post on here for you or with you...
Just a quick tip to help with gear selection...
With the car running go for reverse as normal and as soon as the problem that the gear wont go in pops up try this...
The car wont go into reverse so put it back in neutral then let the clutch off in neutral and rev the engine quickly(just a quick blip of the throttle/accelerator will do)then press the clutch pedal right down again then go for the gear again...you should find the reverse gear easy to select now, even if u need to repeat it once or twice this is the way to select reverse if its being aukward...just do this every time it wont go into gear...
As for any other problems if they still persist get someone to test it like i said above and post what they say and go from that...

Start by getting someone to have a look at the linkages (gear selector rods).

As mentioned, sounds like they're either broken or popped off.
