Hi all,

The airbag warning light keeps coming on on my 2005 206.

It seems to light up after about 40 minutes of driving, but clears if I leave the ignition off for a while.

Any ideas?

Mine used to do this all the time just before I sold it. Turned out to be a loose connection in the wires.

flat or low battery related.ive just had battery recharged and i got this message for a while then it fixed itself-stopped appearing due to fully charged battery.no idea why though?maybe the airbag draws a high rate of power to woek correctly?maybe airbag needs no power from the main battery at all?just speculating.

Get it connected up to Peugeot Planet and see what fault comes up on the airbag ecu (if any). Might be a faulty airbag or even a dodgy connection on the isolation switch.

It seems to have stopped doing it now!
I did think it might be a dodgy battery, but it's voltage (and the charging voltage) look ok.
I guess I'll worry about it if/when it comes back!

I may have spoken too soon - the problem came back with a vengeance!
Rather than waiting for 40 minutes it started warning me within a couple of minutes of starting the car.
Slightly worrying as I have my MOT booked for next week!

I actually checked the battery again today, and it appears to be knackered afterall.
I picked up and fitted a replacement at lunch and the warning didn't come back during my commute home, so fingers crossed that's fixed the problem.

I swear the car's running better now too!

Hi,

I had a similar problem on my old 206. Try the connections under the drivers seat. I'm lead to believe there connected to the seat belt tensioner and air bag. If you adjust your seat often due to sliding it back and forth, sometimes it comes loose. Just another suggestion though.

Thanks Angus,

99% sure it was the battery though. The airbag warning hasn't come back since I changed it.
