While browsing the net i came across this website

buchapeugeot206.com.br/produto.html

Basically it replaces the axle bearings with a poly bush that runs the whole length of the axle shaft. It looks promising. Has anybody ever heard of this before.

So with constant movement up and down you are telling me this works just as well without grease?

And has less play than a metal bearing?

I think dragging my face behind the car would be safer

Well they grease the shaft but poly is self lubricating and if it machined to the same tolerances? Plus the loading will run the length of the shaft.

well spotted Smile buuuuttt......
thats a terrible idea it has bearings not bushes originally for a reason. peugeots have been plagued with the dreaded axle bearings for years so im sure if it was that simple just to replace them with bushes they would of done it

I used Google translate. No bearings it's just a full poly bush that runs the whole shaft length

The material for that bush wont be as stiff as a metal bearing. So it's no good.
